According to sources within the dance music community, Ellum label boss Maceo Plex has offered to do fellow American DJ Danny Daze’s laundry for a year in exchange for his spot on the Extrema Noir line up.
Daze’s inclusion on the line up for the inaugural Extrema Noir festival, which takes place in Antwerp on the 10th November, is believed to have agitated Maceo Plex, who claims to have taught Daze everything he knows.
I can’t believe Danny got asked to play and I didn’t, scoffed a rather annoyed Maceo Plex earlier. I thought we were amigos and then he goes and accepts a gig like this without me. I’d be pissed off with him only I really want to play at that festival so I’ve offered to do his laundry for a year in exchange for his slot instead.
I know Danny very well and I think it’s fair to say that he’s a pretty clean kind of guy, continued Maceo Plex, I’m pretty sure that a thirty minute, forty degrees eco-wash will be more than enough to keep his clothes nice and clean.
I’ve also got a sweet deal going with Gardens of God, who are cooking all of my food for a year in exchange for a couple of releases on Ellum, revealed the label boss, pictured above struggling to apply detergent to his washing machine. So I’ll just use the time I’d usually spend cooking to take care of Danny’s laundry. No biggy.
Obviously anything I find in the pockets of his clothes becomes mine,†he said while rubbing the palms of his hands together. And I know he gets a little forgetful, especially when he’s had a drink, so I’m expecting to make an extra $15-$20 a month. That’s probably going to get me over $200 over the course of the year.
Danny Daze has so far been unavailable for comment, however, sources close to the DJ claim he will not bend and is determined to play himself at Extrema Noir.
